Eddy,Traitor, & Kane: A Short Story
59
He was born 7 pounds 10 ounces and bore to a big white house. It was in a pretty neighborhood in Washington DC.
When he opened his blazing green eyes, he can only see all the things he wants. He has nothing to hinder him, for his skin is white, his father is quiet and controlling, his mother is beautiful, and he has all that he needs. He can see all the angles with blazing green eyes, glowing with young ambition.
Age 3 to 10
Eddy learns what his parents want of him. Eddy, that name, is looked upon as sufficient. He saw how they dressed him, his clothes, the shoes on his feet, the way his hair should look, and the friends he was expected to have.
It was all so thrilling and funny, throughout these years. Funny because he could see all the angles, all the things to say to get the reactions he wanted. All the things to do to gain the things that pleased him. All the things to do that created problems and punishments. All the places he could walk in the house and sit. All the things he can touch, and times in which he should come and go.
Age 12 to 15
He understood the status he would have in school, in academics for grades, the friends he should chose. He knew the clothes he was expected to wear, the clubs he would become a part of, and the tone he should use when he speaks to an adult. He got stern lessons and contemplating decisions from his father. He felt the strength of him. He knew what type of man he was and was unafraid. He liked it, it was mysterious. He liked it a lot.
Age 16
As always, he saw his father come and go. He understood and felt people around him in places at different times. He recognized eyes and listening while he walked and talked. He knew, understood, and felt these things through blazing green eyes. It was all so funny, how it was all given to him, he thought.
He wanted something; something he couldn't quite put his finger on. He didn’t fret nor worry, it would come back. He was confident, but didn't appear as much. He was humble but just for show. He is content and intelligent, he is satisfied with his appearance around his family and friends. Yet, he is unchanged or hindered by opinions or traditions. His decisions are based on his needs and desires. How he has chosen to live is what he desires. What he has seen in life is that he has no reason to feel otherwise. He knows the restrictions and bars of others like him in these families, from the adult's ideas and beliefs. He’s heard, he’s understood, but will never accept restrictions.
Age 16 to 18:
He saw that girls of the families and friends they've long known over many years, had blossomed into young women. He's made good friends and gained many things that will make a prosperous life. His eyes are meant to find a girl from these friends and families to make her a wife. His eyes found one.
Her name was Emily, she was pretty and quaint and respectable. She was stern and honorable with golden blonde flowing hair, soft blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. She was sufficient for his taste at home, but also for his father’s and his mother’s taste who approved of this type of girl, nothing more nothing less.
As he stood on the steps of the place where young sons like him came, he contemplated, fraternities and sports. He chose the well-known fraternity, the one his father chose, the one his father's friends and sons chose. Or better yet, was chosen. In sports he chose hockey, and upon taking a walk one day to decide things that needed to be decided, he found himself in a fight with a strapping young man. He beat him up swiftly and calmly.
He enjoyed beating him up. It was a sensation he'd never felt but loved. However, it tore his blazer and sleeve, which led to questions from his mother and father and explanations from him. He realized he lacked certain elements in fighting skills. He realized he loved the feeling of standing over that unconscious guy. He wanted that feeling again.
Power and control is what he got from defeating him. And so, he searched for a worthy gym or class to match his skills. He found he liked kick-boxing, so he had him self signed up for classes. He sat in his father's study on the phone and discussed the classes and why. Decisions must be discussed, as always.
His Glorious Triangle
And now, outside he stood smoking a cigarette on another day, with clouds rolling overhead. Across the busy street his green eyes glowed as he saw her. A sassy, energetic, smiling young woman; her hair filled with black silky thick curls, disheveled draping, falling on her shoulders. She stood awaiting the bus to stop, as she stole a curious glance at him before boarding, followed by interest. He saw some other things he desired of a woman with those blazing green eyes. Her thick white skin, and plump heavy waste, and pink lips were shining.
He crossed the busy street quickly and once on the bus, slid beside he in the seat. He said hello in a tone not spoken in his household. He tells her about the sky, the moon, the beauty of everything that is she. How it will be with her forever, this beauty, and how he desperately needed to be a part of everything, all the things that encompassed and is her. Navinia was her name, she was of Hispanic descent. And he, on foggy or stormy nights upon several days, broke away at the time in which he would normally do, to be with her in all her dark and pale beauty.
Coming from Sunday morning service, his father back from jobs too numerous to count, he saw from the backseat window of their car, another young beautiful woman. She stood at the bus stop in a satin skirt, white blouse with red ruby lips. Upon getting home, he found he saw things he desired of this woman.
On Sunday again, skipping from the church, by way of the bathroom and borrowing the car, he found the bus stop and her. Hesitant at first she allowed him to drive her home, the beautiful golden skinned Ama. Her soft voice, thick round thighs, voluptuous lips and stern beauty were the final piece of his triangle. The final piece of his needs and desires.
His parent’s needs were satisfied, now, so were all of his.
He had not chosen his occupation as of yet and felt it was long overdue.Three were enough he told himself, listening, thinking, and having a conversation with fellow fraternity brothers. His fraternity is the most powerful in the world. Demanding honesty, something he would give, but no one ever wondered nor asked any more pressing questions, so he made sure to shorten his answers. This was funny to him, he’d smile about it. Finally on a day whilst studying in the library, he knew what he wanted.
He wanted a guiding influence over the powerful, he deserved it he thought. He was the future. He was all, the thinker, the doer, and the fighter; the future of all that will be powerful. He would create more resembling himself. He would be near to immortal.
His name is Traitor with Ama. He knew how to appear, to dress, and to speak. It was all so easy. She lived in a not-so sound neighborhood. He quickly made friendships with her family, and then, the young men of the community. This turned into ties, which generated a bond, money, and weapons. He liked weapons. He learned to use them quickly and extremely well. His plan was excellently executed.
His name with Navinia was Kane. Again he created a long-lasting bond and trust with her family. Soon their friends and family became his friends and family. He made money with associates of her family and of the neighboring areas. He saw money made and gained connections to make more money. He made alliances and friendships for the sake of power and prosperity between the three.
It was the same with Ama and with Emily. It was what America is all about he thought. He always thought. He was always thinking, never saying anything except what is expected of him. He'd laugh alone in his room about it all.
By the time he was in his last year of college, he had homes with his women, cars, and bank accounts. He was a brother and influence in the most powerful fraternity in the world. The most powerful clubs. The most respected party. It was all given to him, all the angles.
From his blazing green eyes, there was something to gain in every corner. His women had everything they needed and him. He had the utmost respect from all of his friends, all of his families, and all of his women. He was the future, and there was nothing that he couldn't have that he hadn’t already gained or would gain.
He smiles always, he has every reason to.
